Grey sky and rain didn’t dampen the mood of racers in Hillsborough, as the 2016 Velo NB Mountain Bike season kicked off at the White Rock Recreation Area. The Codiac Cycling Trails Club organized the event at the infamous Albert County trail network. Many racers were looking forward to the event, one that returned to the calendar after a long hiatus.
July will see the start of the Mountain Bike racing season in New Brunswick with three big events, all offering something distinctive for everyone. The month of June has concluded a winning month for New Brunswick at the Canadian Road Championships. It started with the Masters Road Championships on the 11th and 12th in Saint-Calixte, QC and concluded with the Elite and Para Championships from the 25th to the 29th in Ottawa, ON/Gatineau, QC. Over the course of these events, NB brought home 5 medals, including a red and white National Champions jersey.
