The Woolastook 4 Hour XCM has been on the schedule for years here in New Brunswick. Hosted by River Valley Cycling it’s been well attended, and has held a number of spots on the mountain bike calendar. This year it held the next to last spot, and the late August sun brought out a number of riders for the event. Crabbe Mountain was the place to be this weekend for gravity racers as they hosted two events on Saturday. The Diddle Daddle DH & Enduro saw the return of mountain bikes to Crabbe Mountain after a bit of a hiatus. New management was eager and willing to help grow the sport as they welcomed the gravity racers for an exciting day of racing.
The thunderous sounds of jet planes was not the only power on display in Miramichi on Sunday, as XCM Provincial Champions were crowned. Bike Miramichi hosted the event, one that has been on the calendar for a number of years. Racers from around the province, as well as Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island made the trip on the sunny day to take part in the festivities. Race categories were Solo Men, Solo Women, and a team competition, with our ability based categories used in the solo categories to determine Provincial Champions
