The long weekend brings up lots of opportunities to ride around the province. Be it riding for fun with your friends, or taking in one of the cool events iyou’ll be sure to have some fun. There are three distinct and special events for racers, and riders alike to take part in this weekend. There are opportunities to try something new, and experience a thrill in cycling never experience before.
On Saturday the 3rd, Fundy Sports & Tourism hosts an exciting event at the Saint John Exhibition Park. The Ex-Cross is an opportunity to get a start on the cross season before the Provincial Series starts.
There are 3 scheduled races, an Elimination Race, a 1 Mile Time Trial, and a Cyclocross race. Along with the three races, there is also a Youth race. This is an excellent chance to race around the horse grounds in a setting unlike any other in the province.

On Saturday the 3rd, Velo Edmundston offers youth racers a chance to be competitive on their extraordinary trails.
The event starts at 10:00 am and offers both a XCE and XCO race for U13, U15, and U17 categories. The event is sponsored by Jessome’s Source for Sports and builds upon the efforts to grow youth participation in Edmundston mountain biking. Registration is $20 for both events.
On Sunday the 4th, the Dieppe Velodrome is hosting the 2016 Atlantic Track Championship.
If you’ve never been on the track, the Dieppe Velodrome will be offering “Track 101” on Saturday, a chance to experience racing on the velodrome. They have plenty of bikes to borrow in a number of sizes, all you have to do is bring your pedals, shoes, and gloves.
The event starts on Sunday with a flying 200 to determine categories, followed by action in the Scratch Race, 2km Pursuit, Elimination, Kilo, Flying Lap, and a Points Race. With no entry fees, this is a great event to participate in.
