New Brunswick Young Guns Raid NS Podiums

A New Brunswick presence was felt in Nova Scotia this past weekend, as the Canada Games road race development team traveled to Adroise, NS to compete in “The Provincials”. Lead by Canada Games coach Jean Guy Cormier, the team was able to grab three podium positions in the race.

In the Mens Cat A race, Julien Roussel grabbed 3rd place at the line after out sprinting Shawn Marshall, and fellow teammate Alex Cormier. Also competing in the event were Paul Tremblay (7th),  Chandler Scott (14th), Aiden Schenkels (16th), and Seamus Smith (17th).

In the Womens Cat B race, Laura Clarke, Sarah Gilbert, and Amanda Lee, came home 2nd, 3rd, and 4th to help New Brunswick keep the “Bluenosers” out of the podium positions.

Congratulations also go out to New Brunswick racers Rod Clarke, Charles Cormier, David Miller, and Francois Gazzano for their showings in the event. Full results can be found here.

The team continues to develop, train, and gain valuable experience over the coming months as it prepares for the Canada Games in 2017 happening in Winnipeg.
